13 Weeks

I'm now in the 2nd trimester!  Woo hoo!  B wanted to get in the picture with me this week. :)
Is it just me or is my hair getting darker and my skin getting MUCH paler??  I know it's winter but wow, I'm looking like a ghost these days!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 13 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby T is about the size of a peach
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I lost a pound this week somehow
Maternity Clothes: None yet but I am rocking the Bella Band with my jeans because I can't button them anymore.  My work pants are getting tighter too but I can still button them.
Gender: Won't know for a few more weeks.  I'm hoping we get a "money shot" at our OB appt next week.  I have a feeling it's a boy!
Movement: He/she is moving all around in there as we've seen a few times but I'm not feeling any of it just yet.
Sleep:  I'm LOVING sleep!  I feel ready for bed around 3pm.  Ha!  I do wake up usually once a night around 3-4am to go to the bathroom.
What I miss: Not waking up every single night to go to the bathroom.  And caffeine.  But both are easy trades so I'm not complaining.
Cravings: Sweets   But that's not really that unusual for me normally, I've never been one to pass up on chocolate.    Now I'm just actually allowing myself to eat it!  :)
Symptoms: Mostly tiredness and back pain in the evening.  I've started sleeping on my side most nights because it makes my back feel better.  I have scoliosis so my acupuncturist says the back pain isn't going to go away most likely so I predict a pregnancy pillow will be entering our bed in the near future!
Best Moment this week: Entering the 2nd trimester!!  I'm so excited to already be here!  The 1st trimester FLEW by and I hope this one does too.

Leah Day

Today I got to spend the day babysitting Leah.  I hadn't seen her in a few weeks and she had a big smile for her Aunt Kelly when I got there.  :)

We played, ate lunch and then after nap time we went outside to play on the slide.  Leah LOVES her slide!

And she apparently loves football too...

Happy girl.  She had a bit of a runny nose today so she had lots of nice stuff under her nose from me chasing after her with a Kleenex...

She loves football AND soccer!

When we came back inside she was very busy returning emails

Check out those eyelashes!  Lucky girl

Right before Mom & Dad came home I turned on some Mickey Mouse and she stopped dead in her tracks and sat in her seat for the show.

Oh, it's getting interesting now....

She really needed to pay close attention!

And then it got so exciting with Mickey and friends climbing a beanstalk that she had to stand up and talk to Mickey herself!

She was so sweet and good for her Aunt Kelly, we had so much fun!   She even talked to Uncle Austin on the phone and said "bye bye Au-ten"

12 Weeks

Now that the secret is out I can start documenting my weekly pregnancy progression on the blog!

I'm 12 weeks as of last Thursday.

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 12 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby T is about the size of a lime
Total Weight Gain/Loss: None so far
Maternity Clothes: None yet but I am rocking the Bella Band with my jeans because I can't button them anymore.
Gender: Won't know for a few more weeks and YES, we're finding out before the delivery!
What I miss: Nothing really.  Never mind, I take that back!  Being able to order tea or Diet Coke at restaurants!  Most places don't offer caffeine free options.  Sadness  :(
Cravings: Sweets I guess.  I eat often.  Not a lot, just small amounts throughout the day.  Being hungry doesn't feel too great when you're pregnant I've learned.
Symptoms: Mostly tiredness and back pain in the evening.  The first two months I had lots of symptoms like crazy dreams, CRAZY sense of smell (it was ridiculous!  I smelt EVERYTHING!  I was like a Blood Hound just ask anyone who was around me), a little nausea and exhaustion but it's all seemed to have gone away.
Best Moment this week: Getting released from my specialist!  It was bitter sweet because I feel so safe and well taken care of with him and his staff but it was a good sign that I'm officially a "normal" pregnant person and can see a regular OB from here on out!

Baby T On The Way!

Soooo, Austin and I have some big news to share!  Baby Townsend is set to make his/her arrival around August 4, 2011!  It's been very hard keeping this quiet but since we've made it to the 12 week mark my doctor said everything was good to go and I'm safe to tell anyone our news!  I think just about everyone that we know already knows but it's been really hard not writing about all the exciting things on the blog.

We found out that I'm pregnant the Monday before Thanksgiving and didn't really get to surprise anyone since all of our family and close friends knew we were getting news that day but it was still fun getting to tell everyone GOOD news for a change!  (Our story to get to this point is not a "normal" one which I'll explain in a later post)

Brody was dressed and ready to tell my side of the family!  I had this shirt made about a year ago and he finally got to wear it!

This is Baby T at 10 weeks

Lil One was MOVING at our 10 week appointment!  It was so cool to finally see, it made it seem so much more real.  I'll be doing weekly updates on how things are going and keep you all informed!

Oh, I changed the little stick people at the bottom of the blog a few weeks ago so the lady has a baby belly.  I'm sneaky.  ;)

My New Car

So, Austin and I have been talking for a while about getting me a new car.  Something bigger.  We were thisclose to buying one but hadn't made our final decision yet.  Wednesday night we sat down and worked out our budget and figured out exactly how much we wanted to spend for this new car.

Ironically the day after our "budget meeting" I came home from work thinking I was going to relax, hang out and watch Grey's Anatomy and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.  Yeah, did NOT happen.

My new cars name is Brody.  ;)
When I came home B didn't greet me like he usually does.  I was looking for him and walked into the kitchen and saw that he had gone to the bathroom in the kitchen and I could tell that he either sat/stepped in it.  VERY unusual.  Brody has the entire house to roam around while we are gone because he is such a well behaved dog that we never worry about anything.  So, when I saw the mess, I figured that he must really have had to go and he might have a stomach bug or something.  I found him on the kitchen mat sitting really strange, so strange that I took the picture with my phone to send to Austin.
He was sitting upright and when I picked him up he was very tense.  I took him outside to go the bathroom and he couldn't use his back legs.  It was 5:30pm.  I called our vet and luckily he's open until 7pm on Thursday so off we went.

All of my pictures are from my cell phone so they aren't that great.

I get to the vet thinking B has a stomach virus.  Oh no.  Immediately the Dr comes in and says we have a problem and Brody needs to see a neurologist right away because his back half of his body isn't communicating with his front half and he could have certain brain conditions, a tumor either on his brain or spine, Meningitis or a slipped disk in the back or neck.  This is why he went to the bathroom in the house, he didn't have control over his back half.  He needs tests run to figure out what exactly the problem is and normal vets don't have the equipment to do that.  Within oh, 2 minutes I'm standing in the vets office in front of the Dr and his helper guy just crying thinking my dog is going to die.  Austin gets to the vet shortly after that and we are given the option of two places we can take B.  One is 45 minutes away and he can't get in until Friday and the other is Texas A&M vet school and is 1.5 hours away and he can get in that night.  For those who don't know, A&M has one of the best vet programs in the country so we're pretty lucky to be so close and they recommended we get him in ASAP because his condition could deteriorate quickly so off we go.  We didn't know where we were staying or how long we were going to be there but we headed home to get a bag and got on the road.

Poor baby was in pain the entire way.  :(  The vet had taken an x-ray of him while we were there and they couldn't see a problem with his spine clearly so we weren't thinking that the best option was going to be a possibility.  You'll have to excuse my red face, I spend a good majority of the ride crying thinking the "what ifs" of him having Meningitis or a tumor.  I think Austin spent the majority of the ride silently calculating the estimates our vet gave us to how much we need to be prepared to spend.  He didn't bring this up to me, he knew better.  ;)

We get to the vet hospital around 10:30pm and they dope B up and tell us the good news that they think he DOES have a slipped or herniated disk in his back which just couldn't be seen in the x-ray.  They are going to keep him medicated overnight and monitor his condition and then he will get a MRI and spinal tap (to check for Meningitis) in the morning and then he immediately will be taken into surgery.

Mr. B all doped up.  He was much happier.  :)

Friday morning we headed back to the hospital and got the GREAT news that he DID in fact have a non compressive herniated disk and he did NOT need surgery!!  We were SOOO happy!  We were just praying for the best outcome that we were told and that was the problem with his back and it could be fixed with surgery but to hear he didn't have to have surgery was AWESOME!!  We headed back for the drive home because we weren't allowed to see him since he was still under anesthesia but we could come back the next morning to pick him up and bring him home.

Saturday B slept ALL day, you can see how doped up he was

And he snored...

So, for the next month Mr. B is on strict bed rest so his spine can heal and then after that no more jumping on/off the furniture.  Ever.  It's going to be quite the challenge but it's worth it.  If he's not in his little room, then he has to be either held or laying down, no walking around for a month.

His new haircut

Sleepy little guy

So, that sums up my weekend that turned out anything BUT relaxing!  Spending 6 hours in the car can exhaust you.  Spending WAY more than we budgeted on Brody was well worth it instead of getting a new car.  He's way more important.  :)  He's pretty still right now and doped up but I have a feeling in about a week we're going to have a pretty restless and bored little dog on our hands.  Wish us luck!

Traveling Weekend

This weekend when we headed up to Arlington for the Cotton Bowl we stayed with Elizabeth, David, Gracie & Libby.  We stayed there until Saturday afternoon when we headed to Waco to visit Austins Moms side of the family for our Christmas celebration.

Thursday night before we left I caught a picture of B relaxing on his Daddy.  Sleepy little guy.  It must be really rough being him and getting to roam the house all day and take naps while we're at work.

Sweet happy little Libby girl.  She looks just like her Daddy!

Gracie showing David her sweet soccer skills.  Gracie was super excited that we came to visit her.  She said it was the best surprise ever having us come to her house.  :)

I'm guessing she's thinking "what you looking at?" here.  Little cutie

Pretty Gracie and Austin hanging out

Gracie & her buddy Austin checking out the water fountains

The girls.  This was about 2 minutes before Austin busted it on the grass!  He just lost his footing I guess and we were walking behind him and watched the whole thing like it was in slow motion and I don't think any of us remember the last time we laughed so hard.  Obviously, he wasn't hurt but oh my gosh, it was so funny.  It makes me laugh right now thinking of the cars driving by as that happened who witnessed the whole thing.

After all that excitement we headed to Waco to see the Horton side of the fam!
Cindy and little Miles love each other  :)  He's SO cute and sweet

Me, Rach & Cindy with our pretty bows.

The Townsends

It was such a fun weekend!  Thanks again David & Elizabeth and then Jason & Melissa for having us, we had a blast!

Cotton Bowl 2011

This past Friday Austin and I took the day off work and headed up to Arlington for the Cotton Bowl!  A&M was playing LSU and Austin's boss got a suite and invited us to come along

Before the game was tailgating at its finest  :)  This guy was driving around all the trailers and drew in quite a crowd

Until he met up with crazy LSU guy...

Talk about school pride!

This was our hangout.  Not to bad  :)

Hubby and I

Cowboys Stadium

Getting ready for game time!  Sitting in leather recliners isn't a bad way to watch a football game  :)

National Anthem

Reveille hanging out.  The TV at the stadium is apparently the biggest in the world and I believe it!  It is HUGE!!  Crystal clear picture

Fightin' Texas Aggie Band at halftime.  Right about the time the game took a turn...and not in our favor.

Melissa & I hanging out

According to Austin we've packed more people into Kyle Field in College Station but that's still a ton of crazy fans!

It was a great time even though the Aggies didn't win!

New Years Eve 2011

2010 was a CRAZY year for us and was by far the hardest year of my life so I was pretty happy to ring in the new year.  I started the day with going to the movies with Tracy to see Black Swan.  I don't even know what to say about that movie except that it was one of the weirdest movies I've ever seen.  Just bizarre.  Later that afternoon Jackie & Bryan came into town and we got ready and headed over to Katie & Lunchbox's house for a NYE party.

My college girls

Nice posing boys....

Katie & me

Me & Austin

This was at 11pm when the ball dropped in NYC.  I don't know why there are so many guys checking their watch even though they are watching the time count down in front of them on TV.  Men...they 2nd guess everything.  ;)

Amanda & me

I have no idea how this got started but Jodi & Jody were sporting some nice "hat" bowls

Until Lunchbox saw and said NO and brought them some "real hats".  No idea where these came from...

Nice hats guys

Jackie & I ringing in the new year!

I was just recording the new year and happen to catch Jared with the champagne "blow up".  Check it out on the right side.  Ha!  There was champagne EVERYWHERE!

Mike walked around filming people drinking champagne.  No idea why but it was his thing apparently.

Lunchbox surveying the damage from the champagne "blow up" from Jared on his walls

Jody, Mike & Austin dancing in their seats

and then singing "3 best friends" from The Hangover

It was a fun night and was even more awesome since it was 5 minutes from our house!  :)  Happy new year everyone!  I know 2011 is going to be a fantastic year and I can't wait to see what it brings!
