Graham: One Month Old!

I wrote this post back when he was one month old but while catching up I'm trying to keep things in order so I'm just now posting it.

Oh sweet baby Graham, time is going by so quickly!  You are one loved little guy!!

Graham, here is what you've been up to in your first month!

Sleep:  You are a great sleeper so far!  I mean, of course you wake up during the night but 99% of the time it's just once or twice.  Your usual night is going to sleep around 10:30-11 and waking up around 2am and then again around 4-5am.  We wake up for the day usually between 7-8:30am.  For the first two weeks you slept ALL THE TIME during the day, very different from your big sister!  Now you take two big naps during the day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, usually for about 2-3 hours each.  You take little cat naps in between.  I'm telling you, you like to sleep.  :)

Daily Routine: You wake up between 7-8:30am and hang out in the swing for a little bit while Mommy eats breakfast.  You eat and take your morning nap then repeat until the late afternoon when you want to move around.  When Hannah and Daddy get home you're usually a little fussy so Daddy puts you in the Bjorn and you LOVE it!  Most of the time you walk around with him in the yard and you always fall asleep.  You take another evening nap and then go to bed around 10-11pm.

Feed: You eat a LOT!!!  Between every 1.5-3 hours.  That is one thing that ALWAYS comforts you.  If you are crying and we can't get you to stop any other way I just start feeding you and you're a happy boy!

Weight: You weigh about 9lbs!  We can tell too, your face is really starting to fill out.  You are just SO cute. :)  You are still long and lean though, just getting bigger everyday!  Your weight has been a constant concern because you lost quite a bit in the hospital and then at 10 days old we found out you had a tongue and lip tie so we had to visit the ENT and get those clipped.  It was traumatic.  For both you and Mommy.  Luckily Lainey was with us so she went into the procedure room with you while I stayed in the nursing room hearing you cry through the walls.  It was so so sad.  As soon as they finished they brought you in to nurse and you did SO much better right away!  Your tongue and lip ties were both pretty significant, they said you would have had issues learning how to eat and talk and you couldn't stick your tongue out or even touch the roof of your mouth.   Now that you're fixed you are 100% better and finally are starting to gain some weight!

You can see in this picture your tongue tie before it was fixed.  Poor baby, you

Length: I have no idea but since you were 21.5" at birth I'd assume you're in the 22" range right now.

Diaper Size: Newborn size still fits you but we just ran out of our last box so we're moving on to size 1 Pampers and they work great.  We're still getting used to the differences between a boy and girl in the diaper department though because you have a ton more leaks than your sister did.  Always coming out the sides usually.  We're getting it under control.  ;)

Clothes Size: Newborn and 0-3 month sizes.  You're so long that your newborn fitted jammies don't fit anymore but all your regular newborn clothes still fit.  We're moving on to 0-3 and 3 month clothes now, they're a little roomy around but even the 3 month jammies are just perfect in the length so I think you'll be in 6 month jammies within a month or so!  You are LONG!  You're going to be swallowed around but your legs will be able to stretch out and that's what matters.  You have to be comfortable!

Hair Color: We're not really sure what your hair color is.  It's the same as when you were born and sometimes it looks super light blonde but in the sun it looks strawberry blond.  Your eyelashes are very light also.

Eye color: Your eye color is still the same as at birth, it's a dark blue-ish color.  Daddy and I both have hazel/green eyes and your sister has dark brown eyes but so far it doesn't look like you're going to as well.  Only time will tell.

Funniest moment: Right now I'd say the funniest moments with you involve gas.  That's right, you toot like crazy.  You'll love me later for saying this.  ;)  I don't know if it's because you're a boy or if you're just extra gassy but you let them rip, that's for sure!  Grown men have commented on how they are impressed with you and your gas.  Haha.  You can definitely tell the difference between you just having gas and you going potty but both for sure are LOUD!  TMI??  ;)

Milestone: You have great head/neck control!  Before you were even two weeks old you could pick your head up so well! You were 12 days old in this picture.

Likes: Bath time, you love the warm water!
Being held, if you're awake and not crying that means someone is holding you
Sleeping, you're your Mommy's child!

You love sleeping on your boppy!

Dislikes: Getting your diaper changed.  WOW!  I've always heard of people talking about babies who throw a fit during diaper changes and I never understood it.  Now I do.  You cry and cry almost every time.  We're hoping this changes soon!
Getting in your carrier.  Usually once the car starts moving you stop crying but you sure don't like to be in it when it's stopped!  Once you fall asleep though, you're usually out for a good 2-3 hours if we don't get you out.

Your favorite toy: You don't really pay attention to toys yet but you LOVE looking around at contrasting colors like dark wood fans and pictures.  You will stare for a long time, I think it's because it's still blurry to you but you can kind of see it.

Firsts:
Bath at home, Hannah was so proud to help Daddy!

Doctor appointments (you had SIX this month!  Between weight checks and your tongue/lip tie we were busy!)

Urgent care visit (you had pretty bad eye crust building up on a Saturday so we were told to go to the ER but we ended up at an urgent care specifically for kids instead to avoid the nasty ER germs.  Turns out we should have gone to the ER just because of you being 13 days old but you're fine now!)

Graham, your Daddy, Hannah and I love you SO much!!  You are getting so big SOOO fast and we can't believe you are already a month old!

Some outtakes from your one month photo shoot

Two and a Half!

Sweet Hannah Lee,

You are 2.5 years old today!!  I can't believe it.  Neither can your Daddy.  You are now officially closer to 3 which is crazy.

You, my sweet girl are hilarious.  You make us laugh every single day.  You remember EVERYTHING you hear, even things we didn't realize you heard.  You just listen and store it in your brain and bring it out when we least expect it.  Daddy has always put your hooded towels on his head and started slowly clapping for you and then he comes and gets you for bath time.  Now anytime we clap you say "it's not bath time yet!"  It's so funny, no one can clap without you thinking about getting a bath.

You are such a big girl and you FINALLY have hair!!  You weigh about 30 lbs and are 35 inches tall.  I think both are about 50% for your age.  You wear a size 7-7.5 shoe so you will not have tiny feet like your Mommy, that's for sure!  I think you're going to pass me up in height before you reach middle school most likely.  You still wear a size 4 diaper/2T pull up during the day and a size 5 night time diaper for bedtime.

Speaking of diapers.....you have ZERO interest in potty training at home.  ZERO.  At school you use the potty ALL DAY LONG like a big girl but at home you act like we are asking you to do something terrible.  It's fun...  We've tried bribing you with candy or stickers and you could care less.  We've tried just about everything.  I'm going to bite the bullet soon and we're going to spend a weekend just sticking with it and hopefully you will be fully potty trained after that.  The thing is, I don't even mind that you're still in pull ups/diapers but I think you're ready since you use the potty at school so it's time.

Part of the potty training I think has to do with you're a TAD bit stubborn....  Haha.  This is new to us.  Sweet Hannah, you were one of the easiest babies I have ever seen.  We know how lucky we got the first two years and we are so thankful for that.  About 2-3 months ago you've changed a bit in that area.  You, of course are still SO sweet and lovable but you have DEFINITELY found your voice!  Haha.  Your voice almost always says "NNNNO!"  Those terrible twos everyone talks about?  Yeah, we get it now.  You are such a sweet and caring little girl but when you don't want to do something, wow, you let it be known.  You now say NO often and find yourself sitting in time out.  You have started throwing fits when you don't want to do something and find yourself sitting in time out.  So, time out is pretty common around here.  It seems to work in the moment though because you do not like it one bit.  You also do not like it when people aren't happy so if you know that your fit throwing makes us sad you usually get upset and want to make everyone happy again.  You are just so sweet.

You still sleep like a rock star.  We usually get in bed about 7:15 and say our prayers and read a book or two then you're almost always out by 8pm.  We wake you up at 6am on the weekdays and you usually wake up on your own around 7:30 on the weekends.  You get to stay up until around 8pm on the weekends.  You've been doing great with your naps at school but we're down to usually just one nap on the weekends.  You still spend time resting in your bed during nap time but one day you won't fall asleep.  You are so good about never getting out of your bed.  You have gotten out ONCE in the last six months since moving to your big girl bed and that was because you heard us and wanted to see what was going on.  You just lay in your bed or play until we come and get you.  Once your Daddy was out of town on the weekend and I was still asleep and at 8am I hear "HELLO?!" through the monitor.  I guess you had been up and playing for awhile and finally wanted to know if I was coming to get you.  It was so funny.  You recently have started what we are hoping is a phase by wanting us to lay down with you every night until you fall asleep.  It's so sweet because you will wrap your arms around our necks or hold on to our arm, you just need to make sure you are touching some part of us to know we are still there.  It's harder for Mommy than Daddy because you really really want Mommy to lay down with you.  We lay down with you for a little while and then leave the room so you will fall asleep on your own because we don't want that to become a habit that is hard to break.

You are super smart!  Your teachers tell us and we see it for ourselves everyday.  You can count to 20 and say your ABCs on your own.  You LOVE to "read" books.  Your awesome memory really helps you out with books because you memorize them pretty quickly.  Certain books we can just hand to you and you will "read" them line for line.  You know every word to every page.  It's amazing because they aren't super short books.

You love to dance!  You dance all the time and your teachers say you're the only kid in class who watches their feet and tries to dance like they do.  You are very good at mimicking people.  You have seen the "Let It Go" video from Frozen a lot and you mimic Elsa's movements and sing with her, it's so cute!  The Winter Olympics are happening right now and you LOVE ice skating!  We already have several videos of you ice skating in the living room along with the skaters on TV, it's adorable.  You started gymnastics in January and you look forward to it every week!  I don't know if your Daddy and I are having more fun watching you or if you're having more fun.  It is a blast to watch you running around and having so much fun!  You are really good at following direction and you love the balance beam the most.  It's so cute to watch!

Your favorites right now are Sofia the First, Cinderella, anything princess, Doc McStuffins, playing outside, cuddling with Mommy in the mornings and Jake and the Neverland Pirates.  You are in a HUGE princess phase right now.  Mickey and Minnie are things of the past (sad Mommy) and you only watch Elmo if I put in a DVD in the car.  You talk about Sofia and her friends and family all the time.  You will be quietly eating dinner while Daddy and I eat and talk and you will suddenly start talking about James (Sofia's step brother) or Baileywick like they are real people.  It's like you were just recapping your day and thinking about what they did.

Your dislikes right now are probably right before you take a bath (as soon as you get in the bath you're super happy) you say you don't want to take a bath.  I'm pretty sure it's because you know bedtime is soon to follow.  You will randomly tell us you don't like something on your plate that you love 99% of the time so some days you don't eat your normal foods.  You really dislike us trying to make you go potty at home.  Fun times.

Hannah, you are our sweet, silly, happy, funny little girl and we can't believe you are already two and a half!  You are the best part of our day and make us so happy.  You make us laugh so much and are just the most lovable little girl.  You love giving hugs and you love everyone!  People tell me all the time what a sweet girl you are and it warms my heart so much to hear.

Happy half birthday sweet girl!

24 Months Old!

Here we are, at Hannah's LAST monthly update!  I decided since she's slowing down as far as growth and development we would probably just make these a quarterly thing from now on.  I can't believe it though, my sweet little baby girl is now TWO YEARS OLD!

Hannah Lee, here's what you've been up to this month.

You are talking NONSTOP!  You speak full on sentences now!  They are less than 10 words, but they are still sentences.  :)  You are just so so smart.  Your teachers often tell me how you're doing things that your friends aren't quite ready for just yet (you went pee pee in the potty FOUR times yesterday at school!!).  You repeat things that we didn't know you heard or knew daily.  Every night when I'm making dinner I have Friends on the TV in the living room and you're always running around playing (usually in your playroom) while I'm cooking.  So, the other night you pointed at the TV while Friends was on and said "that's Ross!".  Haha!  Yes, Hannah, that is Ross, I had no idea you paid that close attention.  Being the Friends fan that I am, I've now taught you what each characters name is.  ;)  You also can sing your ABC's, count to 20 in English and 10 in Spanish, all of this on your own!  You LOVE anything baby related and are such a good Mommy to your baby dolls.  You put them in their beds/stroller, tuck them in and give them a kiss goodnight.  It's so sweet.  You still love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse but lately you've liked Sophia and Doc McStuffins also.  We watch less Elmo these days but you still love him and all the characters.  A lot.

You are funny funny funny!  You make us laugh so hard every day!  You have a great sense of humor and you love to be tickled.  You will lay on your Daddy's lap and say "tickle Daddy, tickle" and he will tickle you while you laugh SO hard.  It is infectious and we're all laughing while you're being tickled.

You have such a sweet spirit and are just so sweet to everyone.  You started doing the sweetest thing this month.  Every night after we say our prayers I kiss my fingers and touch your cheek and you started kissing your fingers and touching your own cheek after I do.  It melts my heart.  You are just too sweet. I hear all the time from people how much they love your sweet voice.  It's so high and just sweet sounding, I love it.  When you're "serious" about something or disobeying you will make your voice much deeper and say "no" or whatever you want to say.  It's funny.  Speaking of disobeying, you've been much better about that these last few months!  A while back you went through about a month long phase of being in timeout frequently but I honestly can't remember the last time you went in timeout now.  It's been a while.  If you're doing something wrong we say no or ask you if you want to go in timeout and you just stop doing it.  I'm sure this will change soon but we're enjoying it while it lasts.  :)

You are still a big girl!  I'll update later with your exact stats from your dr appt but you are getting heavy for your Mommy!  I'd guess you're about 28lbs.  You have big feet too!  You measured right at a 6.5 so we got you a size 7 shoe last week.  You don't get that from your Mommy for sure!  You wear some 18-24 month clothes but mostly I put you in 2T now.  There's still some room to grow but you fit!  You are still in size 4 diapers and we're about to move you into size 6 night time diapers.

You had a big month of firsts!  You had your first night in your big girl bed, your first black eye (more on that later) and your first trip to the movies (Despicable Me 2)!  Here you are "sleeping".  You love to do that for some reason lately, when you see me with my camera/phone out (especially while you are in your car seat) you will say "Hannah sleeping!" and start snoring.  It's so cute.  So, here you are "asleep" while I'm taking your picture.  Silly girl.

Hannah Lee, we are SO proud of you!  Your Daddy and I love you more than you'll ever know!  You are the BEST little 2 year old in the world and we can't wait for another great year with you!

Love, Mommy

23 Months Old!

Sweet girl you are 23 months old!  Only one more month until you are TWO!!  Why does time fly so quickly?!  Your Mommy is having a hard time with this.  You have really grown a lot this month it seems.  You are talking in small sentences and running pretty much everywhere.

Looking so big next to your lamb.  Check out that mysterious little grin you have going on these days...

This was you just one year ago.  So hard to believe!  Who is that baby?!

Mommy, you want my spoon?

You are SO big now!  I took you to the dr last week for a mystery rash and you were
Weight: 27lbs 8oz (67%)
Height: 35.5" (94%) I don't think she measured you right, that would mean you grew 1.5" in a month...
Head: 19.25" (87%)

You are definitely showing your personality this month!  When you don't like something you just say NO.  Doesn't work out for you in the end which you are understanding more now.  Most days you are super sweet and good but other days you and the time out corner really get to know each other.  If you say something that's not nice or say no and Mommy says not to say that you will look at me and say "I sorry Mommy.  Hug."  It's so sweet so I can't be upset with you for whatever it is you were doing.  You are very polite!

You love to play with all your toys.  You don't really have a favorite toy that I've noticed but you certainly LOVE books!  You could sit there and read books all by yourself for an hour and then you could come sit on our laps having us read you book after book for a long time after that.

You are super silly!  You just have the best time doing anything!  You still LOVE Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Elmo.  You are starting to really like Sophia the First also, you say "Mommy watch 'Ophia!"  When I ask you if you want to watch a movie you get excited and run to the living room saying "moomie!  moomie!"  So far the only movie you've sat through from beginning to end is Brave.  You just this week started repeating names twice like "Hi Mommy Mommy!" "Brody Brody hush!"  It's so funny.  You also really like speaking in 3rd person.  "Hannah running!  Hannah watch a moomie!"  Super cute.

You had a BIG transition this weekend, you moved to a big girl bed!!  It was out of necessity because the weekend before you decided during naptime to just flip right out of your crib.  You hit your face on the night stand so we decided it wasn't safe anymore.  Like all other big transitions, I worried how you would handle it and just like always, you amazed us with your ability to adapt to new situations.  You were SO excited when you saw your big girl bed!  You said "My bed Mommy.  Hannah's bed"  I'll do another post on it but it went great and you haven't lost any sleep being in the new bed!  You seriously amaze me.

Hannah Lee, your Daddy and I love you SOOOOO much!  You are the sweetest little girl and even on more challenging days you are the best part of our day!  In less than a month you are going to be a big two year old!

22 Months Old!

Hannah Lee you are 22 months old!  Mommy is in full party planning mode for your birthday party! You are going to be SO excited when you see everything, I can't wait!  I still can't believe we're about to have a two year old.

If I had to use one word to describe you right now it would probably be SMART!  You are SO smart!  This picture is a great example.  I said to you in your playroom "Hannah, lets go in your room and take your picture!"  Then I walked in the other room to get the camera and didn't see you so I walked into your room.  You were sitting up in your chair where we take your monthly picture with your bow on!  It was on the chair so I could put it on your head before the pic.  You did such a good job putting it on too!  I was just amazed at how you knew what to do just by me saying lets go take your picture.

Please make a note of all the hair!!! You're finally getting some hair! It is so shiny and pretty and curly. :)

Time to take the posed picture!  I get the "this is painful for me" look.  Nice.  You were saying "cheeeeese!" at least.

I feel like I say this every month but your vocabulary just shocks us.  You are SO vocal!  You say words so clearly and can repeat just about anything we say.  You were playing with a toy the other day and you kept saying it was "amazing"!  I have no idea where you learned that.  You got yet another ear infection this month (I think that's your 14th ear infection now but you are doing WAY better since having your tubes almost a year ago) and when you went to the Dr she was very impressed that you actually told Mommy your ear hurt.  You kept saying to me "Ear hurt Mommy.  Ear hurt." and sticking your finger in your ear.  Your Dr said most little ones don't start saying what hurts for another year.  I'm pretty proud.  :)  You also LOVE taking your medicine!  It's so strange to me that you ask for it.  Every morning and night we give you antibiotics and ear drops and when you get your syringe of medicine you open your mouth like a little birdy and say "num num!" after you get it.  It's so cute.  You also say "ear dop Mommy/Daddy" for when you're ready for your ear drops.  You get five drops in your ear and you love to count each drop out loud.

This month you decided I was "Mommy" instead of "Mama".  I'm not sure why you changed it but it's super cute regardless.  From day one we've always said Mommy & Daddy but when you started talking you said Mama & Dada and then quickly moved on to Daddy but Mama always stuck.  It took you a year but now I'm Mommy all of the sudden.  I'll take it.  :)

You are sooooo sweet!  When you say something that you think hurt someones feelings, or don't give us a hug when we ask right away you will say "I'm sorry Mommy.  Hug!" and give hugs.  You crack us up, when you say "walk away Brody" you will even say sorry to him and try to hug him.  He's not having it though.  You love giving everyone hugs.  When I pick you up from school your face lights up and you literally yell "MOMMY!" and come running at me full speed with a big hug that could knock me over.  I LOVE IT!!

You like to walk into a room and say "come on Mommy/Daddy" and wave your hand to gesture us to follow you.  That means you want us to come play with you or read you a book.  You still LOVE books!  You never get tired of being read too and you will flip through a book all by yourself talking like you can actually read.

You have the sweetest voice and laugh I've ever heard.  When you giggle, it is the cutest thing.  When one of us is laughing or make you laugh you say "Mommy/Daddy funny!" or "Hannah funny!" which makes us laugh even more.  It's adorable.

Now when you get the sun shining in your eyes you will say "So bright Mommy!  Sungasses!  Sungasses!"  You sure love your accessories, especially your sunglasses.

You speak a little Spanish now. Some words, not too many but you have counting 1-10 down and do it often on your own. We are amazed with you every single day.  On the car rides home you will often sing the entire ABC song by yourself including the "yay!" and clapping at the end.  SO smart!

You are so big!!  I can't get over how big you are now, I'm not going to lie, it makes me sad.  You are a tall girl!
Height: 34" (75%)
Weight: 27lb 6oz (70%)
Head: 19.25" (89%)
You are in some 18-24 month clothes but mostly 24 month/2T.  You still wear a size 4 diaper and size 5 night time diaper.  You are in size 6 shoe.  You get in bed around 7:30 and wake up at 6am on the weekdays and between 7-8am usually on the weekends.  You take one nap during the day and it's anywhere from 1.5-3 hours.  You skip naptime all together probably once a week at school because you're just too busy apparently.

Hannah Lee, your Daddy and I couldn't love you more!   You are the sweetest little girl in the world and are SOOO much fun!  I hope I don't jinx us by saying this but you really are a very easy child.  You go with the flow and rarely ever cry.  You go down at bedtime and will just hang out and talk to yourself until you fall asleep.  You're the same way in the mornings, you wake up and hang out talking until we come get you and you will say "HI!" when we open your bedroom door.  You talk a lot!  Wonder where you got that from....  ;)  You eat just about anything we give you and say please and thank you to everything.  You are so friendly and will talk to pretty much anyone, you have the best personality!  You've had a little separation anxiety from Mommy this month, I'm hoping it passes quickly because it makes it hard for me to leave you sometimes.  Once I'm out of sight you move on and are totally fine.  You are an excellent traveler also, it makes road trips much easier for your Mommy and Daddy!  I think if you could talk more you would have very few complaints about your life, it's a pretty good one!

We love you so much sweet girl!

21 Months Old!

Hannah Lee, you are 21 months old!  You are such a big girl now.  Here's what you've been up to this month:

You RUN everywhere and talk SO much!   Your run is so cute, I love it.  It's kind of like a waddle run and it's fast!  You talk nonstop unless we want you to talk on the phone to someone.  Then you are silent of course.  You can count to 15 on your own and your teacher said you can count to 10 in Spanish but you've yet to show that to me.  You can say your ABCs really well.

You're wearing this outfit in the picture because I asked you what you wanted to wear and you said "Elmo dress!"  You've started having mini conversations with us, I can't believe it!

Seriously, when did you get so big?!

You still LOVE you some Mickey Mouse and Elmo!  You like to go through the list of characters on each show and make sure we say them all.  You do the same thing with your friends at school.  In the car we will list off everyone and I always leave one friend off and you remind me who was missing.  You're so smart!  Your teachers have told me a few times that you are by far the most advanced with your vocabulary and memory of peoples names.  Just this morning your teacher told me how they started leaving the tray out for you and your friends to clean your plates after eating and put them in the tray and then walk over to the sink to wash your hands.  Ms. Shauna said you are the only one so far that is doing it and it only took you one day to figure it out!  Such a proud Mommy.  :)  When people walk out of the room now you will say "Where Mama/Daddy/whoever go?" and run around looking for them.

You LOVE being outside!  It's your favorite place to be.  You say "side!  side!" and will go down the slide over and over.  When you're swinging you like Mommy to swing next to you and you just laugh.  You love picking up bark or dirt and throwing it.  The dirtier you are when you come inside, the better apparently.

You are SO happy 99% of the time.  The other 1% you are acting naughty.  Ha!  The terrible twos are starting to appear and along with it are you throwing fits.  I know they aren't real fits and we have only skimmed the surface of that joyous world but you've definitely started reacting when we take something away from you or tell you no.  You will usually start crying and throw yourself on the floor.  You don't love to share your toys so we're working on that, everything is "Mine!"  Good times.  You are also so sweet and caring.  Your teachers say you love to give your friends hugs and get upset when they are crying.  When we're out and you hear a baby crying somewhere you get very concerned and say to me "baby crying mama!  baby crying!"  I was sad last week and was crying and you walked over to me and said "Mama sad.  Mama crying" and gave me a big hug.  It was just what I needed!  Then you ran away to go watch more Mickey.  Haha!

We've been saying our prayers before dinner and have altered them for you.  You know, the kids dinner time prayer "God is great, God is good.  Let us thank him for our food.  Amen."  You will put your hands together and say "God is great God is great Amen!"  It's just about the cutest thing ever.

You are just so much FUN!!!  You are hilarious and sweet and silly and the best little girl we could have asked for.

Mama and Daddy love you SOOOO much sweet girl!!
