My sweet Hannah Lee,
I can't believe it. How has three years already come and gone?! You are three years old! These past three years have been the busiest, funnest and eye opening of my life. I really don't know what I did with all my free time before because we are just SO busy now! You are the sweetest little girl who has such a big heart and is always on the move.
Your princess obsession started right about a year ago and has not slowed down one bit! You love ALL things princess and your favorite is Ariel from The Little Mermaid. You just love her so much and tell us every morning that you dreamed about Ariel that night. Your favorite color is pink and you love playing dress up. You are a very girly girl when you want to be but can get in the dirt as well. You will pick a tiara over just about any toy. Your favorite "activity" is dancing! You LOVE to dance and want to watch dancing every night. You are so cute, when you see a dancing show on TV you want Mommy or Daddy to dance with you and you try to copy what the dancers are doing. It is hilarious and you have some pretty good moves! I really wanted to put you in dance classes this year but you're already in gymnastics so we're just going to stick to one class at a time for now, maybe next year we'll add dance.
Hannah, you are one smart little girl! Your teacher Ms Phyllis has told me several times that you have a photographic memory and I agree. You remember EVERYTHING! She has also told me that you are extremely intelligent and I agree with her on that as well. You catch on to new things so well. We tell you something once, or sing a song and you will remember it days later. We can also see the wheels turning when you know you're doing something you're not supposed to be doing yet you do it anyways. You KNOW what is right and what is wrong, you just choose to attempt to get away with things. It doesn't usually work out for you but it's funny watching you try. You know all your colors, can say your ABCs, can count to at least 20 (more on some days, just to 20 on others), know tons of songs and know all of the characters names on Friends (haha, true story, that would be my fault for that one). You are 100% potty trained and do so well with the potty both at home and in public. Mommy has accepted that you will touch everything in a public restroom and we just wash our hands very very well.
This year you have had one big change from the previous years and that would be your stubbornness has officially come out. You, my sweet girl are stubborn with certain things. I'd say 90-95% of the time you are a dream child. You behave so well and you are just so sweet and caring. That other 5-10% of the time....not so much. You are still our sweet girl but every now and then we look at each other and wonder what happened because you will just act like a different child and throw a fit or just not agree to anything. It's really not that bad but it's bad for your usual behavior. Welcome to the world of toddlers! People make comments all the time about how well behaved you are, especially at doctor appointments. We just went to the dentist this morning and Dr Kim couldn't get over how well you did for your age with your teeth cleaning. You are just very calm and happy when it comes to doctors which I'm so grateful for.
You have definitely developed friendships this year and it is so so sweet to see you playing with your friends. Your absolute best friend is Emma which is so special because Mommy and Daddy are best friends with her parents. I have no idea where this came from but a while ago we asked you if Emma was your friend and you said "No, Emma's my girl" and you've stuck with it ever since, it's just so funny to hear you say that someone is "your girl". The other day you actually told me that Emma was your sister, you just love her so much! It was so sweet. I'm sure the two of you will grow up like sisters. You have many other friends you love playing with and you get so excited when you get to see any of them (especially your cousins).
You are a creature of habit as well. Every night you ask me to come back into your room and sing "The other night dear" and "You are my sunshine" (the other night dear is the 2nd verse to you are my sunshine, you just think it's two songs for some reason.) I happily sing it to you while running my fingers through your hair just cherishing these moments while they last, it's just our special routine. Any time we walk into a drs office you ask for raisins because the first time we went you got raisins so I have to always make sure I take raisins to the dr. One time about a year ago Daddy clapped slowly to tell you it's bathtime and now anytime we clap you say "it's not bathtime yet Mommy/Daddy", it's so funny. You just remember everything and make it a habit.
One thing that Daddy and I absolutely LOVE about you is how much you enjoy everything! You fully appreciate new experiences and it's so much fun to be a part of. When we took you to the beach last month you were just so excited to play in the sand and get in the water, everything you do is exciting and you don't complain, you just GO! You are like that about everything, you get so excited about little things like Ariel stickers and getting to see someone you love. It's just the sweetest.
Hannah, you are our biggest blessing and bring the biggest smiles to our faces. Every day with you is entertaining and reminds us just how sweet and funny you are. You are such an amazing little girl and you're growing up way too fast for Mommy and Daddy. We love you more than you'll ever know and hope you have a fantastic year filled with happiness and love!
I love you so much Hannah Lee!
Love,
Mommy
