Still Here

WOW, it's been a loooong time since I blogged!  I'm still here, just super busy with work, our house is on the market, keeping up with an almost 4 year old and 5 month old and life in general.  I actually have already written all of Graham's monthly posts and just need to add pictures so one day I'll update them here soon!

Hannah's Surgery

Back in March we had a big day, Hannah had her tonsils and adenoids removed!  She's had 18 ear infections total (yep, EIGHTEEN!!) even after getting tubes in when she was 11 months old.  Her tubes fell out about six months ago and she just can't catch a break so we headed back to the ENT and he suggested instead of getting a second set of tubes and adenoids removed to get her tonsils out as well.  So, with no tonsils or adenoids, we're hoping she stays healthy!  Mommy was a HUGE bundle of nerves!  I wasn't looking forward to her going under anesthesia AT ALL.

This little guy was super nervous as well.  ;)  Lainey met us at the surgical center to watch Graham while Austin and I tended to Hannah and it was the best thing ever.

All ready for her surgery!  I started crying before I even got her dressed.  I literally said to myself "get it together, you're going to scare your child".

She wasn't scared one bit!

Typical Hannah.  She is just so funny, her Dr came by to talk before the surgery and when he walked away she said "Mommy, he's a good doctor".  Haha, yes Hannah, he is.

Here they were wheeling her back to the operating room.  I was a little upset because I thought I'd get to stay with her until she got the laughing gas but nope, they took her back wide awake.  She wasn't scared at all though!  She is SO brave!!  As soon as she was gone I lost it.  I just hated thinking of her laying on the operating table under anesthesia.

Her surgery lasted about 45 minutes and we just hung out in the waiting room with Graham, Lainey and Pops.  She did great!  Once they had her in recovery Austin and I went back and it was just awful.  She was SO upset!  She could not be calmed down and she was in a lot of pain.  She only wanted me but since I had my c-section just a month earlier I couldn't let her on my lap.  It was heartbreaking.  She laid on Daddy and they eventually gave her some more pain meds to help.

Hannah on pain meds.  Ha.  She slept for about an hour.

Once she woke up she was MUCH better than before!  Poor baby just sitting there out of it getting her IV removed.

She wasn't a fan.

Going home!

She was so funny on the way home.

Our first stop before getting home was for a milk shake!

Trying to smile for Mommy

For the next two weeks she ate pudding, ice cream, jello, etc.  She lost 3 lbs!

Poor baby, even pudding didn't make her happy after surgery.

Our no-napper sure did take one that day!

The next day she said she was "a little bit tired" so she took a nap.  Graham was a little bit tired too so they were both sleeping the same way at the same time.  I love my babies!  :)

She got lots of goodies!  Lainey and Pops brought her a bunch of fun stuff, Mallory and Hoyt sent her flowers and a stuffed animal and Aunt Tracy, Uncle Ryan, Haley and Leah sent her more goodies!

A few days later we had to get her out of the house to cheer her up.  She was just so down, it was really sad.  She cheered up on the carousel!

Trying her first dip-n-dots!

Round 2 on the carousel!  Seeing her smile was amazing.

She even got a trip to the Disney store where she could pick out one thing, whatever she wanted!

Giving Winnie the Pooh some lovin'

We also introduced her to the mall pet store.  She now wants a bird.  She's not getting one.  ;)  I told her you can only have one pet at a time and Brody is ours.  About a week later she said I'm getting a pet bird one day, you told me at the mall I could.  Girl remembers EVERYTHING!!

It was a tough two weeks but she did amazing!  Every day she felt a little bit better and she never once complained about not getting to eat "hard food".  She knew she could only have soft food and was totally ok with that.  I was super impressed since she's only 3 that she didn't throw any fits about food or anything.  Now we just hope she stays healthy and NEVER has another ear infection again!!

Graham: One Month Old!

I wrote this post back when he was one month old but while catching up I'm trying to keep things in order so I'm just now posting it.

Oh sweet baby Graham, time is going by so quickly!  You are one loved little guy!!

Graham, here is what you've been up to in your first month!

Sleep:  You are a great sleeper so far!  I mean, of course you wake up during the night but 99% of the time it's just once or twice.  Your usual night is going to sleep around 10:30-11 and waking up around 2am and then again around 4-5am.  We wake up for the day usually between 7-8:30am.  For the first two weeks you slept ALL THE TIME during the day, very different from your big sister!  Now you take two big naps during the day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, usually for about 2-3 hours each.  You take little cat naps in between.  I'm telling you, you like to sleep.  :)

Daily Routine: You wake up between 7-8:30am and hang out in the swing for a little bit while Mommy eats breakfast.  You eat and take your morning nap then repeat until the late afternoon when you want to move around.  When Hannah and Daddy get home you're usually a little fussy so Daddy puts you in the Bjorn and you LOVE it!  Most of the time you walk around with him in the yard and you always fall asleep.  You take another evening nap and then go to bed around 10-11pm.

Feed: You eat a LOT!!!  Between every 1.5-3 hours.  That is one thing that ALWAYS comforts you.  If you are crying and we can't get you to stop any other way I just start feeding you and you're a happy boy!

Weight: You weigh about 9lbs!  We can tell too, your face is really starting to fill out.  You are just SO cute. :)  You are still long and lean though, just getting bigger everyday!  Your weight has been a constant concern because you lost quite a bit in the hospital and then at 10 days old we found out you had a tongue and lip tie so we had to visit the ENT and get those clipped.  It was traumatic.  For both you and Mommy.  Luckily Lainey was with us so she went into the procedure room with you while I stayed in the nursing room hearing you cry through the walls.  It was so so sad.  As soon as they finished they brought you in to nurse and you did SO much better right away!  Your tongue and lip ties were both pretty significant, they said you would have had issues learning how to eat and talk and you couldn't stick your tongue out or even touch the roof of your mouth.   Now that you're fixed you are 100% better and finally are starting to gain some weight!

You can see in this picture your tongue tie before it was fixed.  Poor baby, you

Length: I have no idea but since you were 21.5" at birth I'd assume you're in the 22" range right now.

Diaper Size: Newborn size still fits you but we just ran out of our last box so we're moving on to size 1 Pampers and they work great.  We're still getting used to the differences between a boy and girl in the diaper department though because you have a ton more leaks than your sister did.  Always coming out the sides usually.  We're getting it under control.  ;)

Clothes Size: Newborn and 0-3 month sizes.  You're so long that your newborn fitted jammies don't fit anymore but all your regular newborn clothes still fit.  We're moving on to 0-3 and 3 month clothes now, they're a little roomy around but even the 3 month jammies are just perfect in the length so I think you'll be in 6 month jammies within a month or so!  You are LONG!  You're going to be swallowed around but your legs will be able to stretch out and that's what matters.  You have to be comfortable!

Hair Color: We're not really sure what your hair color is.  It's the same as when you were born and sometimes it looks super light blonde but in the sun it looks strawberry blond.  Your eyelashes are very light also.

Eye color: Your eye color is still the same as at birth, it's a dark blue-ish color.  Daddy and I both have hazel/green eyes and your sister has dark brown eyes but so far it doesn't look like you're going to as well.  Only time will tell.

Funniest moment: Right now I'd say the funniest moments with you involve gas.  That's right, you toot like crazy.  You'll love me later for saying this.  ;)  I don't know if it's because you're a boy or if you're just extra gassy but you let them rip, that's for sure!  Grown men have commented on how they are impressed with you and your gas.  Haha.  You can definitely tell the difference between you just having gas and you going potty but both for sure are LOUD!  TMI??  ;)

Milestone: You have great head/neck control!  Before you were even two weeks old you could pick your head up so well! You were 12 days old in this picture.

Likes: Bath time, you love the warm water!
Being held, if you're awake and not crying that means someone is holding you
Sleeping, you're your Mommy's child!

You love sleeping on your boppy!

Dislikes: Getting your diaper changed.  WOW!  I've always heard of people talking about babies who throw a fit during diaper changes and I never understood it.  Now I do.  You cry and cry almost every time.  We're hoping this changes soon!
Getting in your carrier.  Usually once the car starts moving you stop crying but you sure don't like to be in it when it's stopped!  Once you fall asleep though, you're usually out for a good 2-3 hours if we don't get you out.

Your favorite toy: You don't really pay attention to toys yet but you LOVE looking around at contrasting colors like dark wood fans and pictures.  You will stare for a long time, I think it's because it's still blurry to you but you can kind of see it.

Firsts:
Bath at home, Hannah was so proud to help Daddy!

Doctor appointments (you had SIX this month!  Between weight checks and your tongue/lip tie we were busy!)

Urgent care visit (you had pretty bad eye crust building up on a Saturday so we were told to go to the ER but we ended up at an urgent care specifically for kids instead to avoid the nasty ER germs.  Turns out we should have gone to the ER just because of you being 13 days old but you're fine now!)

Graham, your Daddy, Hannah and I love you SO much!!  You are getting so big SOOO fast and we can't believe you are already a month old!

Some outtakes from your one month photo shoot

Graham's Newborn Pictures

I love all of Graham's newborn pictures!  He was so great during the entire FOUR hour session when he was eight days old and then again for two more hours later that week.  Our neighbor is our family photographer and she's just awesome.  It wasn't easy picking only 20 pictures to keep!

This right here was the most stressful part of the entire session, the big sister.  She was a typical 3 year old and was more interested in being silly than sitting still so we got this part over with in about five minutes.

Checking out her little brother

She LOVES giving him kisses and does it any chance she can get.

I like this pictures because unintentionally, they are doing the same thing with their mouths.

Sweet boy

Love

On Saturday Amy came to our house for the rest of the pics and we got the best light in the guest room so we took some pictures in there.

I agree with Hannah, I can't give him enough kisses.

He's such a pretty baby

I LOVE LOVE this picture!  It was by far the most difficult picture to get but we made it happen!

My heart

Family of four!

Here is a pic of Graham's birth announcement

I will love these pictures forever!

Here are some behind the scenes pics I took with my phone during your photo sessions.

The princess getting ready for her close up.

You let Amy change you and move you around all while you slept as long as that little fan was facing you.  It was a miracle worker.

Taking a little cat nap in between set ups

You were the swaddle Houdini, you would be sound asleep and just pop and arm or leg out and keep on sleeping.

Sweet boy
