35 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 35 Weeks with 35 days to go until her due date!!
Size of baby: Hannah is about the weight of a honeydew melon, around 5 lbs and about 18 inches long
Total Weight Gain: 22 lbs
Maternity Clothes: All maternity clothes
Gender: GIRL!!! Hannah Lee Townsend
Movement: Lots of movement! Our wiggle worm likes to keep me on my toes with all her movement.  She did give me one hard kick the other day into what I think was an organ or something because of how much it hurt.  She's strong in there!
Sleep: I'm still falling asleep super easy and early but I'm waking up before the alarm every morning.  I also get up anywhere between 2-4 times a night which is annoying but usually I can fall back asleep quickly.  I now have several pillows around me when I'm sleeping for belly and back support.  If we didn't have a king size bed then Austin wouldn't be able to fit in there with me and all my pillows!
Cravings: Sweets
What I Miss: Moving around like a normal person. It's getting harder and harder to move around these days.
Symptoms: Heartburn daily now, absent mindedness, LOTS of swelling, shortness of breath, lots of BH contractions, etc. I'm definitely more achy now than before.
Best moment this week: Going on the maternity ward tour at the hospital and seeing everything we're going to be experiencing VERY soon!  It was pretty informative and I'm so glad we went.  I also got to see Hannah at the Dr today, Dr J said she has cute cheeks and she's doing perfectly!  I wish I could say the same for her Momma.... I got put on modified rest today.  My heart issue has gotten to the point where my cardiologist and OB expected as Hannah gets bigger so they just want me to rest more especially since I'm having so many BH contractions on a regular basis and getting light headed at times and more short of breath.  No more going to work (I can still work from home for a while), going to the grocery store, mall, etc.  I can go short distances in the car (about 30 mins at a time) and still do anything like going to dinner or the movies since those are relaxing activities.  But no shopping?!  Sadness.  Good thing for internet shopping. ;)  I'm even sad I can't go to the grocery store anymore, I like picking out yummy food!
When I got out of my car at the far end of the parking lot this morning to go into the drs office a man who worked there picked me up in his maintenance golf cart and gave me a ride to the front door and then when I was in the waiting room some woman told me she thought I was very pretty pregnant.  It must have been 'be nice to pregnant Kelly day' today I guess, so sweet of them both, they made my morning. :)  Trust me, after stepping on the scale at the Drs office and literally gasping when I saw how much I gained in two weeks I was NOT feeling so pretty!  The nurses got a kick out of my response because so far I've been pretty lucky on the weight front but they said it's all water and completely normal for this stage of my pregnancy.  Yeah, still made me gasp...
Austin is also officially done traveling for work for the rest of my pregnancy, woo hoo!

This Little Piggy Got Painted

About a month ago I told Austin I was going to have to get regular pedicures now because I can't reach my toes easily enough to paint them.  His response was "I can paint them!".  Um....ok!  I said yes mainly because I wanted to take pictures of him painting my nails because it just sounded funny to me and is SO not an Austin kind of thing to do!  I figured I'd end up just going to the nail salon the next day if they turned out how I was expecting them to look. ;)

Taking my nail polish off.  I should have taken some video to how vigorously he was removing the polish.

I was guiding him along on how to paint but I guess he needed a really close look.  It's all about attention to detail, right?!

The finished product!  Look at those fat little piggies toes!  You can even see the indention from Austin's fingers resting on my foot under my left big toe.  That's what happens when you touch my feet these days.  They.  Are.  Swollen.  Austin literally pushes all the water out of my feet each night when he gives me foot rubs.  It's crazy!

Ok, so it's not a professional job and I had to do a little touch up on the skin but I'm pretty proud of him!  I told him I was going to have to get some of the paint off the skin and he said, no lie "I can get my pocket knife out and get that paint right off".  Thanks for that awesome offer, but I think I'll pass. ;)  A Q-tip and some polish remover will work just fine.  Ha!

I've said it probably 100 times throughout the pregnancy but Austin really is the best "pregnant husband" ever!    He's so sweet to me and little Hannah with our slow ways and high maintenance/weird needs.  After he painted my nails he even went to the grocery store for the week and made dinner so I could put my swollen feet up.  :)  Lucky girl!

Why Going Private

Since I posted that I am making the blog set to private for a while I've received several emails asking if everything is ok, why am I going private, etc.  First off, everything is fine but I'm not comfortable with giving too much information out about the situation but basically a person (who I do not know personally) has expressed an unhealthy level of interest in me and has been trying for the past several months to get into contact with me through my family.  The police suggested that I make my Facebook page as well as my blog private to avoid this person finding out any more information about me than necessary.  We do not think he knows about my blog but I need to take precautions anyways, especially with Hannah due to arrive soon.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience because I know it's a hassle to have to set up an account and log in each time you want to just read someones blog but it's necessary for the time being.  Hopefully once everything is in the past I can open the blog up to everyone again.  If you know someone who likes to read the blog please just have them send me an email at kelly.townsend@yahoo.com and I will happily add them to the readers list.  Unless they are the person I am avoiding...  ;)

Thanks so much for your understanding!

34 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 34 Weeks
Size of baby: Hannah is about the weight of a cantaloupe, around 4 3/4 lbs and about 18 inches long
Total Weight Gain: 20 lbs
Maternity Clothes: All maternity clothes
Gender: GIRL!!! Hannah Lee Townsend
Movement: Lots of movement! I think she was in the same position for a while and then the other night she changed positions completely.  At least I think...  She was VERY busy on Monday night doing something, it felt like she was moving positions.
Sleep: I'm still falling asleep super easy and early but I'm waking up before the alarm every morning, one day I woke up three hours early again.  Not happy about that.
Cravings: Sweets
What I Miss: Moving around like a normal person. It's getting harder and harder to move around these days.
Symptoms: Heartburn daily now, absent mindedness (I told Austin that "I can't remember in my memory" a few weeks ago.  He still laughs about it.  I don't know why I said that but I guess I felt the need to clarify that remembering things requires your memory...), swelling, shortness of breath, BH contractions, etc.  This week has definitely been the hardest one of my pregnancy so far.  I did too much over the weekend and spent WAY too much time in the car and I just HURT by the time Sunday rolled around.  When I woke up on Monday I felt like I'd been hit by a truck, my entire body hurt.  That was our last road trip until after Hannah arrives though so hopefully I can just take it easy for the next six weeks.  My feet swelling reached an all time high this week also, I took a picture but my feet look so nasty I'm not showing it here!  Ha!  My finger swelling is crazy too.  They aren't huge, they just HURT at the joints, especially in the mornings.  It takes a while before I can bend my fingers or make a fist.
Best moment this week: My baby shower over the weekend!  It was absolutely perfect and the girls did such a great job putting it together!  Miss Hannah is one loved baby girl!  :)

I visited the cardiologist this week again and he said "so, you're going to be delivery in the next 4-5 weeks!".  I sat there and probably looked like a deer in headlights and said "No!  I have 6 weeks left!"  He just kind of chuckled at me.  I guess Hannah will be arriving when she wants to but I'm having a hard time realizing it really could be any day/week now, I'm so excited to meet her but we still have so much to do before she gets here!  I'm going to be packing my bag for the hospital this weekend and we got Hannah's cord blood kit in this week so I guess it is really coming soon!

Showering Baby Boy!

When Lindsey and I were both about 18 weeks pregnant we were talking about our Dallas baby showers and thought what a good idea it would be to have them both on the same day since neither of us live in Dallas anymore and a few of our friends along with us would only have to travel to Dallas once for the baby showers.  Yeah, at 33 weeks we realized that's a LOT for one day but it was still a great day!  We had lots of fun and enjoyed both of our showers. :)  Lindsey's sisters hosted a couples shower for her and Derek Saturday night that was so nice!

I was all about that food table once we arrived  :)

Baby Tyse's diaper cake.  Clearly our little ones won't be cheering for the same team

Mommy and Daddy-to-be!

Lunchbox, Austin, Bryan and Wade hanging out

Me and Jackie

Austin and Meg

Austin, me & Hannah hanging out after it rained.

Congrats Lindsey and Derek!  You guys are going to make the best parents to baby Tyse and I can't wait to meet him!

Showering Baby Girl!

This past weekend Austin, Brody and I headed up to Dallas for our LAST road trip before Hannah arrives!  I now have decided that with any future pregnancies, I will not be traveling after 28 weeks!  No way.  Not happening.  I've paid for this long road trip with some pretty uncomfortable pain, trust me, but it was SOOO worth it!  :)  We got to Jackie and Bryan's Friday evening and got right back in the car so I could eat some In-N-Out burger for the 1st time!  I was so excited because for the past five or so years Austin brings me an In-N-Out t-shirt each year when he travels to the West coast but I had never experienced it before.

Yep, I had them get me a hat to wear for this picture.  I couldn't resist since all the kids were wearing them! ;)  The burger didn't disappoint either, it was tasty.  Just as tasty as the milk shake I had after that....  Funny thing, they sent me inside 1st to look for a table since the line was out the door.  We figured if any of the four of us were going to get a table it was going to be me since I look like I'm about to pop.  We were right!  I was inside for less than 30 seconds when someone came up to me and said they would save their table for us when we're ready since I shouldn't be standing outside in the heat.  So nice!  You know I took them up on that offer immediately!

The whole reason for our visit was for Hannah's last baby shower!  I went to college up near Dallas so a few of my awesome friends hosted a shower for me and my baby girl!  It was amazing and they really out did themselves!

Cute decorations

I loved the details, they put bows that were made for Hannah on all the hanging balls!  It was so cute and now she has lots of cute bows for whenever she gets some hair!  :)  If she's anything like her Mommy and Daddy though, she'll be bald for quite a while after birth...

Yummy cupcakes!

Cute favors for all the ladies

More bows!

All of the food was so good!  I laughed because my plate was FULL and I walked by someone and their plate had less than 1/2 the amount my plate had!

We played a game during the shower that was so funny.  I'm not a huge fan of shower games of any kind but this one was a blast.  We had to guess what the baby food flavor was.  Some of that stuff STINKS!!

Mommy-to-be

I LOVE this sign the girls had made for Hannah's room!  It's the perfect verse for her too.

The beautiful hostesses and me.  I was in each of their weddings and they were all in mine!

Mommy-to-be with Hannah's Grandma's-to-be

Me with the Aggie stroller that Beth got Austin.  He was pretty excited about it when he got back at the end of the shower.  His exact words were "This is MY stroller"!  I told him he sounded like Leah because right now everything to her is "MINE!".  But yes, technically this is HIS stroller.  ;)

Perfect bib for Miss Hannah!  Love it!

How cute is this?!  I wish I was creative in my wrapping but I just put things in bags or wrap them up in paper.  Aunt Jan is super creative, I told her she won the award for best presentation!

Adorable burp cloths and more bows that Kasey had made for Hannah

I love this little shoe!  It's porcelain with crystals all over it and on the bottom you write all her birth info.  It will be so pretty on display in Hannah's room.

This picture made me laugh because obviously not all of the baby food jars smelt so pleasant...

Lindsey and I with our baby bumps!  She is due with baby Tyse just three days after Hannah is due!  Trust me, back in our college days when we were sitting around Tavern, we never would have guessed we'd be having our babies at the same time!

My Godmother Lynda with her future daughter-in-law Amanda and me

My Kappa girls!!

Beth & me

My 1st baby Brody had to make an appearance too of course!  I swear, his feet never even touched the ground once I brought him downstairs.  He was being passed around like a real baby!  Ha!  Seriously.

After everyone left Jackie and I had the boys play the baby food game.  It was pretty funny watching their faces!  I think they got 6 out of 10 right though!

This just makes me laugh

The shower was amazing and I'm so lucky to have such great friends who are all excited about Hannah's arrival!  Thanks again girls!

33 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 33 Weeks
Size of baby: Hannah is about the size of a pineapple, around 4 lbs and about 17 inches long.  I can tell she's getting bigger in there!
Total Weight Gain: 18 lbs
Maternity Clothes: All maternity clothes
GenderGIRL!!! Hannah Lee Townsend
Movement: Lots of movement!  When she moves sometimes she reshapes my entire belly because she's so big now.  At the Dr today she was head down and kicking strong on the left side.
Sleep: I'm still falling asleep super eazy and early but I'm waking up before the alarm every morning.  Getting out of bed is just comical now.  Sometimes I have to lay there for a minute and try to plan my strategy for how I'm going to physically get out of the bed.
 Cravings: Sweets
What I Miss: Moving around like a normal person.  It's getting harder and harder to move around these days.
Symptoms: Heartburn, absent mindedness, swelling, shortness of breath, etc.
Best moment this week: Getting to see Hannah at the Dr today!  She said that Hannah is growing perfectly and that she's happy in there just relaxing. And kicking her Mommy ALL THE TIME!!!  This little girl is a wiggle worm!  Once she gets going, she wiggles around for a while.

Our little wiggle worm  :)  She's SO much bigger than last time we saw her at 24 weeks!!

We also did Hannah's 1st load of laundry this week.  We had a good time folding all of her tiny little newborn clothes.  :)

Some guy today in the building lobby of the Dr's office walked by me and just shouted out "Oh!  You're very pregnant!" and kept walking.  Uh....yep, that's right, I'm pregnant.  Thanks for noticing my hugeness buddy and yelling it out to me as you pass like you've never seen a pregnant woman before.  I really do feel like my belly looks bigger than a lot of other people's does sometimes but I think it's because I'm so short.  I don't know, maybe it's just me not realizing that all other pregnant women get told by random people how big they are....

Private

For some personal reasons I've decided to make the blog private for a while.  I'll keep it public for at least a week to give anyone the chance to leave me a comment or email me your email address so I can put you on the list of people who are able to still view the blog.  Please leave a comment or email me at kelly.townsend@yahoo.com if you'd like to continue to read our blog.  It makes me sad to have to do this but some things have been going on that make us need a little more privacy especially with Hannah on the way!

Work Shower

On Friday my coworkers had a baby shower for Miss Hannah.  It was so sweet of them and she got lots of great things and I got to eat lots of sweets.  :)

Tia & Ryan hanging out soooo excited to watch me open presents!  ;)

Kristin & Jenny, we didn't get pics of everyone there but thanks guys for all coming!

Two of my buddies at work and I are crazy Big Brother fans.  Every summer we look forward to it and each episode we text each other throughout the episode and then discuss "strategy" the next day at work.  They made Hannah her own "BBH Fan" onesie!  So hilarious!  She will be wearing this by the way.  :)

One group at work got together and bought Hannah her big swing!  Can you tell I'm excited about it?!  Ha!

Austin was sweet enough to come for the shower!  He even got to check out Hannah's daycare while he was there.  :)

My work BFF partners in crime (and Big Brother buddies) Nicole and Leslie.

Tracy was sweet enough to come on her day off!  Yes, we're sisters who are both due with our babies at the same time and to top it off we work at the same company.  None of this was planned by the way, it's just kind of the way it happened!  Our offices used to be down the hall from each other but now we're at separate locations across town.  :(

My former coworker Lilliana made it too!  Miss you Lil!!  Thank you so much for coming!

Lil, me and Elizabeth

The sweet hostesses.  Thanks again ladies, y'all are the best!

It was a great afternoon and Austin and I spent part of Saturday putting together some of Hannah's new things!  She's one lucky girl!
