Six Months Old!

Oh, my sweet Hannah baby, you are SIX MONTHS OLD!!!  I still can't believe that six months ago you were brought into this world and we are now closer to your 1st birthday than your birth.  The last six months have been the happiest of my life and you are just the sweetest thing I've ever laid eyes on.

Hannah, here is what you've been up to in your six month!

Sleep: You are still the BEST sleeper at night!  Thank you SOOOO much for that!! You go to sleep every night between 7-7:30pm.  Lately you've been waking up about once a week/every other week after you've gone to sleep (sometimes it's 10pm, sometimes it's 2am) and we just feed you and you go back to sleep.  I'm not really sure what's going on with that because it's totally random but it makes me sympathize (even more than I already did) for parents who have babies that don't sleep well at night.  Those sporadic nights are ROUGH the next day so I'm really happy they are a rare occurence!  During the week you usually wake up in the 5am hour just chatting away in your bed or on the mornings you are still asleep I wake you up to feed you around 6am and then we leave for the day around 6:20.  On the weekends you wake up on your own between 6-8am and go back to sleep for an hour or two after I nurse you. You still aren't consistant with your napping but you usually get at least two or three hours of naps throughout the day.  You are just having way too much fun playing to take a nap for too long apparently.

Daily Routine: Your daily routine consists of playing all day with your friends and eating/napping.  You are usually the first one to your class at 6:30am and I pick you up before 5pm. You have three bottles a day at daycare, eat breakfast that I send with you and usually take three naps (two short ones and one long one on most days).  At the end of the day we head home, you nurse and then have a fruit and veggie that I made for you and then Daddy gets home and it's bath time (your favorite!) and then you eat again and you're out for the night. On the weekends we just spend as much time as possible playing with you and enjoying our time with you because you are growing SOOO fast!!

Feed: You still love nursing and love to eat pretty much at anytime. You get bottles during the day while I'm at work and you take those great. You get two bottles of formula each day in addition to your breast milk bottles (6oz each) and nursing.  At daycare you hold your own bottle.  You are just the happiest little baby when you're eating but definitely are moving around a lot more while I'm feeding you.  Any sudden noise distracts you from eating and you turn your head towards it.  You eat a fruit with oatmeal mixed in every morning and a fruit and veggie every night, sometimes I mix rice cereal into your veggies.  You did NOT like rice cereal or oatmeal on it's own when we first introduced them to you but you don't mind them mixed in with your fruits/veggies so I sneak them in a lot to get you some grains.  You are doing great eating at your highchair and now open your mouth and lean in towards the spoon.  Your favorite is still sweet potatoes.  You get really excited when I put you in your chair and you watch me prepare your dinner and kick your legs around.  Don't worry, I get the same way about eating too.  ;)

Ready for some breakfast!

Weight: 16 lbs 3.5oz (55%)
You did so great at the dr by the way, you only cried for about 10 seconds when you got your shots.  We're so proud of you!

Length: 26.13" (65%)
Your head circumference is 17.52" (93%), you have a big noggin!  That just means you're extra smart!

Diaper Size: Size 2 Pampers but after this last box I think we're going to move you up to size 3 even though size 2 still fits.  You're nickname from your teachers is "blowout queen" so I think it's time.  I'm such a proud mommy, that's the name I always hoped my daughter would get....  ;)  Ha!

Clothes Size: You're in 6 month sizes mostly.

Hair Color: We're still not really sure what your hair color is. It will look light brown/blondish but then in the sun it looks reddish, it seems to be getting lighter lately. You're eyebrows are still light and have a red tint to them so who knows! Your hair seems like it quit growing this month to me.

Eye color: Your eye color is kind of a mystery also, it's a dark gray color but they look green in the light.  I think you may end up with hazel eyes but it's hard to tell.  What I do know is that they are big and beautiful!

Funniest moment: You make us laugh daily!  You are quite the screamer when you get excited about something.  When someone you love comes into the room or when you get excited while playing with a toy you just squeal with delight or flat out scream in excitement.  It. Is. LOUD.  It's really cute but makes me a little nervous about taking you to quiet places because sometimes you will get excited out of nowhere and you let everyone know it!

Milestone: You are sitting all by yourself for extended periods of time now.  I can leave you on the floor with your toys and you will just play and play (and talk and squeal) for a while.  It's nice because it gives me some time to get stuff done around you.  You now can scoot (army crawl) and move around a lot so if I put you down in one spot, nine times out of ten you are at least a foot away a few minutes later.  You're getting really strong too, if your Daddy holds onto your feet you will lift yourself up to a sitting position from laying down!  You're going to have some strong abs little girl!  You also had a milestone last week that wasn't so great, your first ear infection.  :(  You seemed completely unfazed by it though and I took you in to the doctor for a nasty cough and it turned out to be an ear infection.  I pray sweet girl that you don't end up with your Mommy's bad ear problems.  A few days later I took you back to the doctor and you had bronchiolitis from getting RSV apparently (we didn't even know you had RSV).  You have been on antibiotics and twice a day breathing treatments since last week.  You do NOT like the breathing treatments!  It's so sad making you go through that but you're doing much better now.  You've also really started interacting with Brody now.  You two are like peas and carrots, I catch y'all kissing ALL THE TIME!  Every time I turn my back, I swear that little dog is giving you kisses on the face.  You seem to LOVE it, Mommy on the other hand....not so much.  I'd rather you not have dog kisses on your face.  Any time you see him your attention shifts to whatever he is doing.  I'm so happy that you two get along so well!  That was definitely something that we worried about before you were born because B was our "baby" until you came along but he seems to love you thankfully.  :)

Your favorite toy: You still love your jumperoo and play in it every day for quite a while.  You love your crinkly book, your piano, Sophie the giraffe and lots of other toys.  You have a LOT of toys, you cleaned up at Christmas!

Some of your firsts this month were:
Ear infection
First breathing treatment
Scooting across the floor (you will be crawling soon, I can't believe it!)
First time at one of Daddy's precooks for the Rodeo Cookoff (he loved showing you off!)
First injury (at Daddy's precook you cut your finger, it was so sad.  It wasn't a big cut but you were very upset.)

Here are some outtakes from your six month photo shoot.  You are getting HARD to take a picture of these days!  You just want to MOVE!  There are several outtakes because of all the movement.  You were cracking me up.

Hugs for Mr Lamb

Giving him some lovin'

You were on the move!

Happy girl

This face makes me laugh every time I see it!  Ha!

Yeah, you're not a happy baby at all...  ;)

You're giving your lamb quite a look there....

She sits like this often, it's like she's clapping her feet together

I wish I could let people hear the noise you were making when I took this picture, you were SO excited!

Hannah Lee, you are the sweetest thing we've ever seen.  We can't imagine our lives without you and can't wait to see what this next month has in store because you are growing SO fast!  Each month is a whole new experience with you and we couldn't be happier.  Your Daddy and I love you soooo much!

Love, love the update. The breathing treatments sound like they are rough to give, but she doesn't seem to mind at least in the picture. Sitting up? Army crawling? How exciting! She is just determined to explore the world on her own! :)
